The Company was incorporated on 29th May, 1985 in the state of Maharashtra, India. In 1985, the Company went public with an issue of equity shares of Rs.10/- each for cash at par. Subsequently in the year 1993-94 Mr. R.D. Shroff along with his family and investment companies acquired 74.90% of the equity capital of the Company. With this, Mr. R. D. Shroff and family became the promoter of Nivi Trading Limited. Mr. R. D. Shroff is the promoter of United Phosphorus Limited, a leading agrochemical company and listed on the stock exchanges.

Mr. R. D. Shroff along with his family and investment companies holds 26.55% of the Equity Capital of United Phosphorus Limited. Mr. R. D. Shroff is also the promoter of Uniphos Enterprises Limited, a company listed on the stock exchanges. Mr. R. D. Shroff along with his family and investment companies holds 45.53% of the Equity Capital of Uniphos Enterprises Limited.

Nivi Trading Limited was incorporated with the main objects to carry on the business as Traders, Retailers, Whole-sellers, Exporters etc. of chemicals, dyes, pharmaceuticals, and other general dyes. Currently, the Company is engaged in the business of dealing in investment / trading in securities, lending and borrowing of funds etc. and the main source of income is from dividend, interest and gain in sale of securities.
